Supporting newborns and their families as they transition to life outside the womb

Hi,  I’m Jaynie!

I am a CACHE-Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula, and New Parent Educator who has a passion for supporting newborns and their families for the first 12-16 weeks of life.  I offer the families I work with unique expertise in newborn care, emotional and physical birth parent support, and parental education and family support. My job is to nurture and care for the newborn, the birth parent, and the entire family.

As your Newborn Care Specialist, I’ll establish safe and comforting sleep practices, help you develop an easy-to-maintain daily and nightly schedule and routine, and create a system to track feedings, diaper changes, and sleep.  I’ll also educate you on any aspects of newborn care you don’t feel confident in, especially for preemies, multiples, and/or medically fragile newborns. Most importantly, I will be there for overnights, responding to your baby’s needs while you get a full night of SLEEP!

As your Postpartum Doula, I will support the birth parent’s physical and emotional healing and help with the entire family’s adjustment to the new baby. I can provide emotional support and reassurance for the birth parent, help encourage your rest and recovery, help you bond with and care for your baby, and give advice and provide resources when asked!

As your New Parent Educator, I will teach you about what to expect when your newborn comes home and now best to prepare and care for them (and yourselves!), before and/or after their arrival. Expecting multiples? My specialty! Let me help you create a plan for the most successful (and least overwhelming!) fourth trimester.

No matter what role I am hired in, I will provide ongoing education and support for the whole family in all areas of newborn care, ensuring that everyone gets off to a healthy and happy start. My goal is to leave the family with a newborn that sleeps through the night, and parents who are well-rested, confident, and empowered!

Let me help you create the Easiest Beginning for your newborn!

Whether providing Daytime Postpartum Care for the birth parent, Daytime Newborn Care for the birth parent and newborn, or doing 8-12-hour Overnight Newborn Care for the first several months, Jaynie’s mission is to help the newborn—and their family—adjust to life outside the womb.

As a Newborn Care Specialist, Jaynie establishes an easy-to-maintain daily and nightly routine, gets baby set up on a pediatrician-approved schedule for eating and sleeping, sets up a stimulating environment for baby’s awake times and nurturing environment for sleep times, and begins sleep-conditioning baby immediately so the newborn(s) are sleeping through the night as soon as possible.

Jaynie works along-side the parents to care for the newborn, offers support with bathing, breast-or-bottle-feeding, diapering, and sleep, and she sleeps in or near the nursery for overnight wake-ups and feedings.  She will also help with newborn laundry, bottle and pump accessory washing, breast milk storage and preparation, formula preparation, and other newborn-related tasks around the home that will increase the amount of quality time the parents get to spend bonding with their newborn!

“Jaynie is an angel! We were SO relieved when Jaynie came to our house to help us with night feedings for our twins. We were finally able to get solid hours of sleep, which helped us get our sanity back! We wish we would’ve called her so much sooner! Jaynie is a baby whisperer and we HIGHLY recommend her!!!”

— Niecia A., Kalamazoo, MI: Mom of James and George

“Jaynie was a lifesaver for my triplets and my family! They were 5 weeks old and 4lbs each when she started as our Newborn Care Specialist, and they needed feedings every 4 hours around the clock. Jaynie handled this on her own during night shifts flawlessly. She also educated us on sleep-training them. When I followed her lead, the kids started sleeping through the night! She is a wealth of knowledge in all things babies. We could not have survived without her!”

— Kelli V. Richland, MI: Mom of Elizabeth, Janis, and Vincent
